Lostboy
Beverly Lane

One day, in February of 2002, I went to my sister’s house in Powell Tennessee to eat dinner. We went out side to put birdseed in the bird feeders and what did we find? A male Zebra Finch!

He was so cold it didn't take us long to get him, but he still has us going around the house about 2 or 3 times to catch him. We couldn't believe he was still alive because it was so cold outside. I was worried he may have lost some toes after the exposure to the cold but he didn’t.

I still have him, and call him Lostboy. I gave him a female and now they have babies. The entire family is doing very good.

One thing about this is I wish people wouldn't let their birds go outside in the winter or anytime. If you do not want your birds find someone that will take them, like me I love birds.
